Eligibility Requirements
Citizenship
To adopt from the Kyrgyz Republic, at least one parent must be a U.S. citizen.
Age
Parents must be at least 25 years old and no more than 60 years old.
Marriage Status
Married couples and single applicants may adopt from Kyrgyz Republic. Kyrgyz Republic does not permit adoption by same-sex couples.
Criminal History
Applicants with documented history involving child abuse, violent offenses, domestic violence, or termination of parental rights are ineligible to adopt.
Health Conditions
Applicants must be in good health and free from serious, chronic transmissible diseases such as HIV, venereal disease, or tuberculosis, as well as other life-threatening conditions.
Income
Families must have an annual income of at least $30,000 and meet all financial requirements set by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for the child to immigrate.
Children at Home
There are no requirements or limitations regarding the number of children in the household.
