Where is Latvia?

Is it an independent country?
Yes! Latvia is a sovereign country, and a member of the European Union.
Parents must be at least 25 years old. Individuals and married couples can adopt. At least one parent must be a US citizen.
How long does it take?
Usually under a year, BUT your child comes home before the process is finalized. See Process section for details.
How much does it cost?
Agency fee is $8,500. Program fee is $9,000. Case management is $9,800. In-country services are $4,000. Details are in the Financial section.
Generally 9 and up. If a child is a part of a sibling group, then as young as possible. Orphan Court makes special determinations about the children available for adoption by foreign citizens.
