Jenny's Story

A lot has changed since I first arrived in the United States. I’ve made so many wonderful friends and experienced countless exciting adventures. In the beginning, everything felt scary because it was all so new, but over time I met amazing people – many of whom have become my closest friends. We spend a lot of time together on weekdays and weekends, and somehow we always end up at Starbucks. I mean, who doesn’t love Starbucks?

Most of us also play field hockey. It’s a sport that involves a lot of running, but I love it. I’m not the biggest fan of practices because they’re all running and conditioning, but I absolutely love game days. My favorite part is the bus rides – we blast music, laugh, and just go crazy.

Over the years, my parents and I have grown so much closer. We may argue sometimes, but we always learn and work through it together. I love them so much, and they truly are the best parents anyone could ask for.

One of the best days of my life was when we got our dog, Deedee. He is the sweetest, most playful dog. He greets everyone, people and dogs alike, and he’s never afraid, no matter how big the other dog is. When my bedroom door is closed, he’ll just sit outside and wait for me. When I was away at camp, he waited by my door for hours, hoping I’d come out. He’s the best thing in the entire world.

I’m really looking forward to starting high school, playing sports, spending time with my friends, and celebrating the holidays – Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course… my Birthday!
