Adoption Story

Our 3 Boys

We were already an  adoptive family, having 2 children join our family from Kazakhstan in 2007.

We fostered 3 times through an orphan hosting program in 2016-2017 and fell in love with our, now oldest, son.

He had 2 younger brothers and we decided they would all be part of our family. We started the adoption process with another agency but due to certification issues, had to transfer to World Links in early 2019.

Our WL coordinator kept in frequent contact with us and answered our many questions over the 3+ years it took to get our sons home. Even if there was no current answer to a question, he was honest and kept encouraging us.

The in-country coordinators have a passion to help the orphans they work with get into forever families. It was also heartfelt to see that the adults at the orphanage truly cared for our sons and were sad to see them leave but happy for them to have a new life.

After MANY MANY delays due to governmental changes in both countries and then COVID, we finally completed our 3 trips to Kyrgyzstan over 9 months and came home with our 3 sons in early May, 1 month less than 6 years from when we met our oldest son!

The adoption process is long and difficult and extremely frustrating, but worth it for all.  Here is a photo of pick up day in April 2022 – the final time our children and we left the orphanage and never had to look or go back!
